Faith in the Future

Those who’ve seen Second Thoughts, the long-running and popular UK ITV sitcom that was based on a long-running and popular BBC radio series, already know the story of Bill and Faith (James Bollam and Lynda Bellingham), a pair of late-in-life-lovers who had to deal with objections from the kids and a few stormy getting-to-know-you moments. Well despite nearly making it to the altar a few times over the course of the show, eventually they split up and went back to single life, leading Faith to move away and start afresh. That’s where Faith in the Future comes in – when Faith settles down she’s suddenly confronted with her daughter (Julia Sawalha) who comes knocking on the door with a view to moving in. I’d move in on both of them, but that’s another story.
