Facing Windows (2003)

Friendship and love can have a funny way of coming to us from the relationships that we expect to be nothing but burdens. The young wife of Facing Windows (2003) has responsibilities and worries--two children to raise, an outside job of her own at a poultry-packing plant, a husband whose career is precarious and less than lucrative. Top off this stack of hard concerns with the bold, impertinent staring of an alluring young man who lives in the apartment across the way. The callow seducer's windows look into hers, and the components of her life seem about to come tumbling down. But then an old man is put under her care, a Jewish veteran of the Holocaust unable to fend for himself, and he becomes one more drain upon the good wife's energy and attention. Except that when miracles do happen, they come from the most unlikely sources.
