Eros (2004)

Great Nudity!

Review

For most men, sex carries very little mystery. A guy just wants to stick it in. Next time it pops up, he wants to stick it in again, perhaps in a different place than where he stuck it last time. In the average fellow, this cycle spins until his death, with hardly a thought to it. The three directors of Eros (2004), however, are anything but average fellows. Michelangelo Antonioni, Steven Soderbergh, and Wong Kar-wai are each in their own way considered masters of the filmic craft. They are purveyors of ideas and visions. They look upon the ostensibly mundane and elevate the material of everyday life, in this case the parallel progressions and explosive intersections of love and sex, to an artistic splendor. Each of these directors has contributed a self-contained segment to the total of Eros. Their combined efforts will open the average fellow to a sense of f-ing wonder.
