Director Phil Joanou, who helmed Rattle and Hum (1988), has the Irish rock band U2 appear in Entropy (1999), a theatrical exercise on the trials and tribulations of a moviemaker. It's a bit navel gazing, to be sure, but thanks to Judith Godrèche, as Stephen Dorff's French model girlfriend, the film has Edge and is sure to give audiences a Bono. Entropy means the degradation of matter, but the only matter degrading here are Judith's clothes. And isn't that all that matters? Judith seduces Dorff by flashing her can-do cans at the beginning of the movie. The filmmaker reels her in, and, after a montage of moaning, the two are ready for their naked close-up in the shower. There won't be a dry seat in the house.
