Egoisci (2000)

Four of Warsaw’s wealthiest residents live it up in an endless display of hedonism and reckless perversion in the colorful Polish allegory Egoisci (2000). Mariusz Trelinski’s film tells of an affluent clique who gets off on indulging in hard drugs, reckless sex, and other forms of easy entertainment. But when one of the group’s core members contemplates suicide following a bout of depression, the remaining yuppies realize a pressing need to confront reality. Good sense inevitably wins out, but there’s no crime in rewinding to catch the hedonistic build-up. Magdalena Cielecka and Violetta Kolakowska are unforgettable as voluptuous babes basking in the sensual glow of sinful living.
