Dreamscape (1984)

Tapping into dreams becomes a nightmare in the sci-fi action flick Dreamscape (1984). Because mental magician Alex Gardner (Dennis Quaid) has a talent for entering and manipulating people’s minds while they’re sleeping, a government agency is intrigued by his powers. As such, they and his former mentor Paul Novotny (Max von Sydow) hire Alex to start a program that will help cure the President (Eddie Arnold) of the nightmares he has of nuclear devastation. But when test subject Charlie Prince (George Wendt) dies in his sleep from cardiac arrest, Alex senses something is amiss. One thing leads to another and, before you know it, Alex believes his colleagues have a conspiracy for world domination. Could Bob Blair (Christopher Plummer) be sending the unstable psychic Tommy Ray Glatman (David Patrick Kelly) to assassinate the Commander in Chief in his sleep? During the investigative process it would be a dream to probe the probe program’s sexy staffer Jane DeVries (Kate Capshaw). This is especially the case when the curvaceous babe dons a low-cut top. In the United States, audiences are treated to down-blouse views of Kate’s cleavage. Yet in the United Kingdom, fans get to see the pretty blonde take off her top! Yes, Mrs. Steven Spielberg reveals her right breast (as if there is such a thing as a wrong breast) in a scene that wasn’t seen in America. This racy revelation is enough to make Mr. Skin swim across the ocean. How else can Ms. Capshaw make a splash in his pants?
