Brazil's worldwide hit comedy Dona Flor and Her Two Husbands (1977) casts sumptuous Sonia Braga in the titular role. Flor is the widow of handsome, sexually dynamic, but utterly irresponsible Vadinho (José Walker). When she remarries the upright, and uptight, Dr. Teodoro Madureira (Mauro Mendonça), Flor finds herself materially and emotionally satisfied, but she misses the fire of her first husband in the bedroom. That's when Vadinho's ghost comes back with more on his mind than merely haunting his former missus. Dona Flor and Her Two Husbands electrically embodies the carnally charged atmosphere of the country from which it comes, and as fans of Brazilian cinema know, you can always count on Sonia to give you a bonia.
