Der Tote Taucher im Wald (2000)

Translated as “The Dead Diver in the Woods”, Der Tote Taucher im Wald (2000) co-stars Jens Schäfer as Tobias Kutschke, a newly appointed police commissioner of a small, heavy-wooded town. Tobias is quickly greeted with a bizarre murder case involving a burned man dressed in a diving suit, discovered in the middle of a forest, miles away from the nearest body of water. As the dumbfounded deputy tries to solve the crazy crime, his ill-tempered, soon-to-be-retiring boss, Konrad Hartwich (Dieter Pfaff), is breathing down his neck. On top of all the sleepy town stress, Tobias must deal with another murder victim, a female corpse, found stuffed in a red bag. The two detectives must work together to solve the gruesome, head-scratching deaths. Thankfully for us, the German thriller isn’t all just murder and mayhem.
