One of the films that made a big impression during the first week of the Toronto International Film Festival was the Bergman-esque period romance Portrait of a Lady on Fire. The film stars the gorgeous Noémie Merlant as Marianne, a painter tasked with creating a portrait of a reclusive young woman named Héloïse (Adèle Haenel) prior to her wedding day.

The only issue is that the last time a person was sent to paint a portrait of Héloïse, things did not end well. So her mother (Valeria Golino) tells Héloïse that Marianne is her new walking companion, and she will therefore observe her by day and paint her portrait, in secret, at night. Of course, there's more to the story than meets the eye, and that will be the fun of discovering the movie's secrets.

Another fun thing is all the nudity in this flick, courtesy of both leading ladies! Just seven minutes in, we get a look at Noémie's left breast, followed by a bush-only nude scene 48 minutes later. The good stuff starts around the 79-minute mark, however, when both Noémie and Adèle bare body parts in some lusty lesbian love scenes!

Portrait of a Lady on Fire will play at the New York Film Festival later this month before heading to select theaters on December 6.
