Dead at 21

No Nudity

Review

Early attempt at serial drama from the fine salespeople over at MTV, Dead at 21 offered a nifty gimmick: Ed Bellamy (Jack Noseworthy) has long been the subject of genetic research and it has made him mega-smart. Alas, his conditioning has the unfortunate side effect of wasting his body away – so logically he’ll die in the last episode. This teenybopper version of the old D.O.A. twist found a small cult following, though the producers couldn’t follow through with a suitable conclusion for their high-concept creation.
