Comédie! (1987)

In Comédie! (1987), an erotic French romp from Jacques Doillon, a feisty young woman becomes jealous when she realizes that the Casanova she’s dating isn’t planning to stick around for the long haul. Jane Birkin plays the female love interest in a modest chamber drama with a cast of two. At first the woman criticizes her lover’s roving eye, then she dreams desperately of leaving him, and finally she succumbs to his irresistible charms. The conclusion is long in coming but worth the wait, as it finds the delectable Birkin ditching her wardrobe in favor of skin and suds.
