Colombiana (2011)

Zoe Saldana is a trained contract killer on a lifelong quest for vengeance in Colombiana (2011). Originally scripted as a sequel to Leon: The Professional (1994) that would star Natalie Portman as an adult Mathilda, that script was reworked into this one. The movie sees Zaldana as the Colombian assassin named after an orchid flower, Catalaya Restrepo. Just before 9-year-old Cataleya’s parents are killed in front of her by drug lord Don Luis (Beto Benites), Catalaya's dad gives her a memory card and her uncle's (Cliff Curtis) address in Chicago. She escapes, works her way to The Windy City, and channels her grief into martial arts and weapons training under her hitman uncle. All grown up (and out), Cataleya’s become a stone-cold fox as well as a stone-cold assassin, known for leaving Cattleya flowers behind as her calling card. She's hoping that move will attract the attention of Don Luis, but it attracts the attention of FBI Agent James Ross (Lennie James) instead. Now, Catleya has to avoid the FBI while tracking down and taking out Don Luis. Vengeance is mine has never looked so fine as it does with the gorgeous, exotic Zoe pulling the trigger.
