When two contrasting personalities are put into close quarters, their clashes and meshes are the stuff of gripping drama and hilarious comedy, sometimes both at the same time. Remember The Odd Couple? Claire of the Moon (1992) takes chesty blonde Claire (Trish Todd) and femininely handsome brunette Dr. Noel Bededict (Karen Trumbo) and tosses them together at an all-women’s writers retreat. Claire is lazy, sloppy, heterosexual, into casual sex. Dr. Noel is driven, neat, lesbian, pining for a soul mate. Having to endure a shirt-optional constant proximity, sparks soon fly between the two, leading to an explosive climax, which appears to occur simultaneously.
