Cherie (1984)

A Hong Kong health-club instructor finds that it’s difficult to square a modern sensibility with traditional Chinese values in the Shaw Brothers comedy Cherie (1984). Cherie Chung plays the eponymous character, a physically fit trainer whose lithe body catches the eye of a wealthy playboy and a starving artist. The former tries to get Cherie into his Rolls Royce, the latter wants her to pose for his photos, and poor Cherie just wants to settle down with somebody. Viewers, on the other hand, may find that it’s hard settling down after getting a peek at her precious peaks.
