If you've seen 2014's Goodnight Mommy, you have a decent idea of what to expect from the writer/directors' follow up film. The Lodge played Sundance this past January where it was met with a mixed reception, but one which had passionate defenders and ardent dismissers. Needless to say, it will be equally divisive amongst general audiences when it opens in theaters later this year.

The set-up is a pure horror-hound's delight...

A soon-to-be stepmom (Riley Keough) is snowed in with her fiancé's two children at a remote holiday village. Just as relations begin to thaw between the trio, some strange and frightening events take place.

The promise in that premise is fantastic and, like Goodnight Mommy, will hopefully go to some unexpected places. The other great news is that Elvis' granddaughter Riley Keough goestopless twice in the film—taking a shower at the forty minute mark, and again 21 minutes later!

As for whatever else The Lodge has in store for us, we'll have to wait and see. There's no North American release date set yet, though it's scheduled to open overseas in late August. I hope they hold this off for the colder weather. Seems like snowbound setting won't be as creepy in the middle of summer. Needless to say, you should keep your eyes peeled for this one!
