Cantique de la racaille (1998)

Gaston is a small-time hood who lucks into the stunningly beautiful Marie-Pierre on the side of the highway. Posing as a multimillionaire, he picks her up and takes her back to his lair. As his seduction of her nears completion, Gaston attempts to make their lives more palatable by moving to a nice middle-class neighborhood, but, as Cantique de la racaille (1998) so amply demonstrates, it’s not all that easy to change one’s stripes.
