You have to wonder how the people at CBS can justify their jobs. They pour big money into creating a new series, they run eight of the twelve episodes produced, then decide that decent ratings aren’t good enough and that allowing the show to build an audience would be too costly. So they dump what was, is, and should have been a truly good TV series just when it’s picking up steam. Buddy Faro might not have been the greatest concept in the world but Dennis Farina is the GD king. Rat Pack-era private investigator Buddy Faro (Farina) resurfaces two decades after disappearing and restarts his agency with the help of a young ‘former fan’ (Frank Whaley). Actress Julie Barber (Allison Smith) and Buddy's fashion-challenged disco freak El Jefe (Charles Robinson) round out the ensemble in this truly funny show. A great series that was killed off well before its time - how good was it? It won an Emmy after it was canned, that’s how good it was.
