Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice (1969) asks the swinging question, “What are friends for?” The short answer is sex! Paul Mazursky’s wife swapping satire focuses on the intersecting lives of two groovy couples as they grow together and apart during the sexual revolution of the late ’60s. Like the key parties of the time, Bob (Robert Culp) and Carol (Natalie Wood) and Ted (Elliott Gould) and Alice (Dyan Cannon) are fueled by sexual tension and overlapping attractions.
