Better Luck Tomorrow (2002)

An overachieving Asian-American student turns to a life of crime in the sleek bad-boy teen movie Better Luck Tomorrow (2002). Ben (Parry Shen) excels in the classroom and on the basketball court, but when a top jock slags him in the school rag, the teen’s motivation is sapped and he decides to pursue a darker calling. Ben starts by selling cheat sheets, but he quickly moves on to a bigger operation that involves drug dealing and trading stolen merchandise. Much of the teen’s impulsivity can be traced to his crush on cheerleader Ariadne Shaffer, whose sultry skin flashes send the poor boy’s head spinning.
