Awkward Thanksgiving (2014)

Celebrating the holidays with the family is supposed to be fun, but let's face it—more often than not, they're a time of stress, repressed anger, and trying to sleep on uncomfortable beds, only occasionally punctuated by mediocre food and heartburn. That's essentially what Henrique Couto's indie comedy Awkward Thanksgiving (2014) is all about, except there's more weed and naked people at this holiday affair than likely were at yours. The plot to this one is pretty basic. After his mom died, Tom (Mike Canestaro) has been avoiding all family get togethers. Reluctantly, he decides to make his grand return and bring his girlfriend Nancy (Erin R. Ryan) to Thanksgiving, which leads them to run headfirst into a sister (Marylee Osborne) with a "Friend" (Joni Duran) who is clearly her lesbian lover, the family patriarch's hot new girlfriend (Haley J. Madison), a social media influencer, a juvenile uncle, and all sorts of other characters who set up the silly situations and wacky jokes. Throw in a ton of drinking, some fighting about the past, all sorts of pot, and other comedic chaos in this flick about a rowdy family gathering, and it's not hard to see how things can go wrong in really humorous ways. Mr. Skin would turn off the parade and try to get laid if he was at a Turkey Day event with hotties like the ones in this flick. At one point in the movie, Haley Madison faints—or pretends to faint—in the middle of the living room—showing her rack and full bush before a room full of people inspect her. In another nude scene, Erin R. Ryan somehow ends up totally naked running around outside (but we're not complaining). No Thanksgiving is complete without some lesbian action, so Marylee Osborne and Joni Duran get it on in their bras and underwear. It's not the excessive eating that'll have you unbuttoning your pants at this Turkey Day get together. The only thing awkward about this Thanksgiving is the enormous boner Mr. Skin would have there.
