American Woman (2018)

In this slice of American blue-collar struggles, you not only get a picture of young motherhood in the middle of Pennsylvania, you get a mystery and true crime story around the disappearance of a young woman.  American Woman follows Debra (Sienna Miller) who tries to make the best of a mundane life in the middle of crap-town, PA, USA over the course of 11 years.  She had an unplanned pregnancy as a teenager and her daughter does the exact same thing, making her a grandmother at the ripe old age of 32 years old.  Debra basically fills her time by screwing married men around town, slugging Rolling Rocks with her sister Katherine (Christina Hendricks), and diving head first into bad relationships time and time again.  One day, she wakes up with a hangover and a screaming grand baby in the other room and her daughter is nowhere to be found.  When the mystery of where her daughter is for the day turns into a real life missing person's case that spans over a decade, she is forced to raise her grandchild all the while trying to find her missing kid along the way, not knowing if she is living or dead.  Sienna Miller is still a certified 12 out of 10, per usual and gives an incredible performance in this indie flick from director Jake Scott (son of Ridley Scott) and although the subject matter falls into the more serious, she is definitely unable to contain her inherent sexiness anyway and gives us a peek at her panties on a couple of occasions.  Come for Sienna and the ever sexy Christina Hendricks, and stay for the story and solid dramatic twists and turns!
