Alucarda, la hija de las tinieblas (1978)

When a film hails from a deeply Catholic and corrupt country and bears a title that translates to the alluring oxymoron "Innocents from Hell," expectations of sweet, defiled purity are raised, hopes for arousing despoilment that appear magically onscreen in Alucarda, la hija de las tinieblas (1978). Times were tough for the Catholic church in Mexico during the late 1970s. The nuns who populate Alucarda, for instance, had to turn their well-rounded, compact behinds on Jesus and embrace Satan, leading with their pert, uplifted, erect nipples, in order for their convent to survive. The new girl believes she is entering a cloister dedicated to prayer and good works. How will she adapt to the naked Devil worship and nude vampirism that await her?
