Translated as To The North Of The Heart, Al Norte del Corazon is yet another Mexican telenovela in a land that thrives on the melodramatic. That point was proven when a Mexican national, Adalpe Guerra, was released from death row in the US after it was said that he was innocent of the crime he’d been charged with. Soon after his release, Guerra was asked to portray himself in a recurring role on Al Norte del Corazon, the storyline of which follows the hardships endured by Mexican immigrants in the United States. Commercials ran that said the audience should tune in and "learn about a man from whom the United States stole 15 years of his life." They did just that, turning the little soap into the highest rated show on the network and turning Guerra into an instant celebrity. His fame was short-lived however, as he was killed in an auto accident shortly afterwards, bringing the soap back down the ratings to where it started. Co-starring Diana Ferreti, whose name means “fantastic tits” in Spanish, Skinephiles will be pleased to note that Diana has done more than her fair share of nudity, including a nice turn in 1984’s La Fuga De Caro. Muy bueno!
