Bear in mind that Spain is the birthplace of surrealism, and Airbag (1997) is the typical buddy/road film of the region. A spoiled and callow rich dude is engaged to be wed to the daughter of a worldly marquessa. In honor of the upcoming nuptials, two of the groom-to-be’s pals treat him to the fleshy delights of a local brothel, and he loses his priceless heirloom wedding ring in the ass of his paid companion. The ring is found by a boss mobster who owns a string of whorehouses, and the chase is on as the hapless future hubby and his buddies rush from fleshpot to hell hole in a desperate bid to reclaim the charmed piece of jewelry. Heaping helpings of action, hilarity, and absurdity ensue.
