A World Apart

A short-lived soap based on the disparity between races, genders and generations, good writing and a talented cast couldn’t save this show from the perils of an early morning time slot and an audience just not ready to deal with racial prejudice and teen pregnancy while they’re eating their breakfast. Susan Sarandon got her small screen start in this production, after showing her boobies in the hippy flick Joe and who would have known that she’d still be showing them today? Other names to appear in A World Apart include ex Playboy bunny Susan Sullivan (otherwise known as Kitty on Dharma and Greg), Dorothy Lyman (The Bold and The Beautiful), Rosetta LeNoire (Mother Winslow from Family Matters), Kevin Conway (Black Knight) and Clifton Davis (Max Keeble’s Big Move).
