While I and every other New Jersey native will stand by John Travolta until the end of time, it's not a stretch to say it's been years since he's made a good movie. Every movie he makes looks identical now, whether it's Speed Kills or Trading Paint, they all just kind of blend together. One good way to keep track is by the wig he's wearing, the quality of which has taken a nose dive along with his star status.

Travolta's latest effort, The Poison Rose, teams him for the first time with other Hollywood luminaries like Morgan Freeman, Brendan Fraser, Peter Stormare, and Famke Janssen. It's some sort of murder mystery thing with Travolta playing an ex-football player turned P.I. who gets in over his head when assigned a new case.

Also along for the ride is two-time Oscar winner Nick Vallelonga, the son of Tony Lip from Green Book, playing the role he was born to play:Nick the Giant Bodyguard. The Poison Rose is scheduled for a May 24 release, but that might be a VOD release date because I just don't see this thing playing theatrically in the year 2019. But who knows? Maybe it's good.
