Based on a novel by John Le Carré, the British whodunit A Murder of Quality (1991) features Denholm Elliot as George Smiley, a former spy who’s investigating a letter warning of a murder at a boarding school that was sent to his friend Ailsa Brimley (Glenda Jackson). When he arrives he finds a woman dead and a list of suspects that includes headmaster Terence Fielding (Joss Ackland) and teenage pupil Tim Perkins (Christian Bale). Along the way, we get the naked knockers of Samantha Janus, but not her anus.
