A Loving Father (2002)

Father-and-son acting team Gérard Depardieu and Guillaume Depardieu live up to the stunt casting in Aime ton père (2002), a.k.a. A Loving Father, the tale of a guy living in the shadow of his famous novelist father. Sylvie Testud steals the film, though, as Gérard’s daughter, who handles Dad’s impending Nobel Prize by riding a lucky horseman right in the stable. Guillaume responds by kidnapping his father, but at least he’s got some solace in the goodies of fiancée Karina Aktouf. Meanwhile, Elisabeth Niederer makes the most out of what should’ve been an unsexy role as an unclad and undead cadaver.
