A League of Their Own

Take a hit movie, crank out a TV series based on it, fill the lead roles with actors we don’t recognize, throw in a few of the movie’s lesser lights and what you have is pretty much every film-to-TV transition known to man. With the exceptions of M*A*S*H* and Buffy The Vampire Slayer, very few have made it past the first season and A League Of Their Own is no exception to this rule. Starring Carey Lowell (Licence To Kill) as Dottie Hinson and Beverly Hills 90210’s Christine Elise as Kit Keller, the producers threw in as many Jon Lovitz guest-starring appearances as they could muster but the audience never turned out in big numbers without the pull of Geena Davis, Tom Hanks and Madonna. Of those that turned out for TV Spring Training (including Rob Reiner’s daughter, Tracy Reiner) only Carey Lowell had given us a glimpse of nudity at the time of writing. So if that’s what you’re looking for, try looking under 1990’s The Guardian, where she pops her chest pimples out of her shirt for the pleasure of all mankind.
