A father and his two children inherit an estate that they come to realize contains twelve, yes, twelve, ghosts in the horror flick Thir13en Ghosts (2001). A remake of the classic 1960 frightfest, after ghosthunter Vyrus Kriticos (F. Murray Abraham) dies catching an infamous ghost, he leaves his mansion to his nephew Arthur (Tony Shalhoub). Arthur and his kids move in, only to find a bunch of glass walls covered in Latin phrases. Never a good sign to see Latin phrases on the walls of your new home. Once they enter the glass house, they find themselves just as trapped as the ghosts. Ends up, the entire dwelling was using the ghosts as a sort of power source, but the family accidentally released all of them. While the family is trapped, other elements come into play, including a ghost hunter and a ghost rights activist. And as for the thirteenth ghost? Ends up, to escape one of them has to sacrifice themselves. Critics didn't like this one, but did appreciate all the unique ghosts like the evil blacksmith with a hammer for a hand (Herbert Duncanson), a pilgrim woman with her head still in stocks (Xantha Radley), and best of all, "The Angry Princess" played by Shawna Loyer. The story goes that that ghost was addicted to plastic surgery, but killed herself in a bathtub when she didn't get the results she was looking for. Shawna plays the constantly naked and carved up ghost, but her exposed funbags are fakes. However in one of the final scenes where all the ghosts are gathered together to make the demon contraption work toward opening hell up, we do get to see merkin wearing bush and backside. We'd like to do some bustin with that ghost! We'll put on a sheet and get freaky under the sheets with her! Sick of getting ghosted by hotties on the apps? Give the Thir13en Ghosts technique a shot: buy a haunted house and take your chances that you can turn a specter like Miss Loyer into your spooky lover!
