Serial murderers and vulnerable female sex workers add up to a potent combination in countless low-budget exploitation features, and Roots of Evil (1992) provides one kick-ass example. A deranged maniac (Alex Cord) stalks and slays strippers and hookers throughout the sleaziest back alleys and underground byways of Hollywood, while a crack team of cops tracks him down. Watch for great work from Jewel Shepard as a nearsighted exotic dancer and Brinke Stevens in a role close to her heart (and Mr. Skin's hard part) as a B-movie siren.
