Meagen is one of those amazing actresses you see absolutely everywhere but rarely gets her due, so we’re glad to be able to pump up this stage and screen star with a walk through her impressive resume After being classically trained abroad, this Joliet, Illinois native settled into Chicago’s theater scene, working with the famous Second City company among others. Meagen appeared in a few notable New York productions as well, including Shakespeare in the Park, before relocating to Los Angeles, where she would launch her decades-long career in film and television, including performances in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels (1988), The Carol Burnett Show and Carol’s other variety show Carol & Company (1990-91), Barton Fink (1991), Tales of the City (1993), Magnolia (1999), Malcolm in the Middle (2002-2004), Six Feet Under (2005), La La Land (2016), and Transparent (2015-2016), just to name a few. In addition to her viral monologue (you may know it as “Shut Fuck Mountain”) in an episode of Grace and Frankie (2019), Meagen’s most salacious moment is probably the scene where she gets run over by Maya Rudolph in an episode of the Apple TV comedy Loot, notable because she’s completely nude at the time, having just returned from skinny dipping in a mountain pond.
