Review

The film industry has no shortage of mystery movies. It regularly releases action thrillers, psychological thrillers, sci-fi thrillers, horror thrillers, political thrillers, legal thrillers, crime thrillers, and Mr. Skin’s personal favorite — erotic thrillers! Enter Zebra Lounge (2001). Kari Skogland’s R-rated flick acknowledges that even the best of marriages can suffer from bed blahs over time. At least that’s the case for the married couple at the center of this story. We can see that Wendy (Brandy Ledford) and Alan (Cameron Daddo) Barnet engage in hot sex. Indeed, he takes off her clothes to reveal her black brassiere. Once that comes off, Alan kisses Wendy’s bare breast! Nevertheless, there’s an absence of heightened tension in their sensual pursuit of one another. In other words, banging the same body for the umpteenth hump hardly qualifies as a sexual conquest. Consequently, sparks have ceased to fly between the sheets. Committed to saving the relationship, this pleasure-seeking pair attempt to put the pizzaz back into their lives by enlisting the orifices and appendages of a seductive swinging couple who are every inch as attractive. Thanks to a spouse-swapping ad, the Barnets meet Louise (Kristy Swanson) and Jack Bauer (Stephen Baldwin). Their hook-ups include some sapphic action between Ms. Leford and Ms. Swanson in the pool. Yes, it’s wet! Everything seems fine — including the bra-clad cleavage on a lady named Marnie (Larissa Gomes) — until the Barnets discover that their sexy saviors are also stalking sociopaths. Well, at least it was good while it lasted!
