Biography

Before she even entered grade school, Paris-born Zabou Breitman, the offspring of noted French actor Jean-Claude Drouot, started acting at her daddy's knees on his hit series Thierry la Fronde. Well, she's all grown up now and making an even bigger impact in her native land's cinema and television scene. The actress has over 150 credits to her name, and has appeared in such films as The Party 2 (1982) with Sophie Marceau; Billy Ze Zick (1985), for which she received the César Award for Most Promising Actress (the French equivalent of an Oscar); Mother (1992) with Omar Sharif; La Crise (1992), for which she received a Best Supporting Actress nomination at the César Awards; Blue Away to America (1999) with Marion Cotillard; Beautiful Memories(2001), where she also served as a writer and the director, and for which she won a César for Best First Work of Fiction, and won Best First Film in two other award competitions; The Minister (2011), with another César nomination for BSA; and 24 Days (2014). She also wrote and directed the animated film The Swallows of Kabul (2019), and earned three awards plus six nominations for her efforts, including one nom for Best Animated Film at the César Awards, and one nom for a special award at the Cannes Film Festival. Impressive, right? For Mr. Skin, Zabou earns multiple skinematic awards for revealing her petite pair as Beth in the movie The Perils of Gwendoline in the Land of the Yik Yak (1984), or just Gwendoline, opposite the equally naked Tawny Kitaen. And more accolades for a boob flash as Constance Michaux in One Woman or Two (1985) with Sigourney Weaver and Gérard Depardieu. The svelte, small-breasted pixie also gets kudos for baring her treasure chest in Le Complexe du kangourou (1986) and in Moitié-moitié (1989). Three cheers for Zabou!
