WIOU

This prime time soap opera began with a fictional TV network sending Hank Zaret (John Shea) to be the news director of affiliate station WNDY (know as WIOU to the staff due to it’s rocky financial standing). The station’s co-anchors are Neal Frazier and Kelby Robinson (Helen Shaver) who, with a motley crew of producers and cameramen, are trying to keep the station afloat. Though the series didn’t last long, the show went out with a bang in the final episode when the WIOU newsroom was taken over by an armed man who ended up getting shot. While the show failed to make any waves, the same can’t be said for some of its female stars. Helen Shaver has been naked in plenty of flicks, but she did some fine breast work in the softcore lesbian scene of Desert Hearts, which could have just as easily been called Dueling Nipples. Kate McNeill acted like a monkey in heat in Monkey Shines (minus the tossed excrement), while Jayne Brook let us peek into her shower stall in Into My Heart. Last but not least clothed, the legendary MILF Mariette Hartley wore one of the sexiest cave girl costumes ever on the original Star Trek--so sexy, in fact, that she made Leonard Nimoy’s blood boil!
