Not to be confused with an earlier US program of the same name, the 1997 ITV series Where the Heart Is tells a heart-warming story of families, love, and growth within a small British community. In other words, it’s a melodramatic limey soap opera featuring sisters-in-law Peggy Snow (Pam Ferris) and Ruth Goddard (Sarah Lancashire) who deal with life's trials and tribulations, laughter and tears, etc. By its fourth season, Where the Heart Is had become a favorite with the UK soap opera crowd and also branched out into Canada. In an interesting coincidence, the one actress from this show who’s been naked so far shares the same first name of the one actress who got naked on the American show of the same name. Well, okay, maybe it’s not that interesting (I’m getting closer to my word count quota), but Marsha Thomason, who played Jacqui Richards, gave us a skinterlude in a handful of films, just as Marsha Mason did, who was the star of 1969’s Where the Heart Is. Thomason, a gorgeous dark-skinned brunette from Manchester, England, has popped up (and out) in such films as Love in the 21st Century and the appropriately titled Brazen Hussies, where she played “Stripper with Fire.” Sounds like one fire that’s worth questing for.
