Where the Heart is

Set in Northcross, Connecticut, the 1969 drama Where the Heart Is followed the dysfunctional lives of the Hathaway family and those near and dear to them. The problem of the Hathaway family was quite simple: everyone was having a secret affair with everyone else's wife/husband, resulting in disastrous consequences. The solution to their problem was quite simple, too--quit tryin’ to fuck everyone in your own family! If you’re gonna be a player, go run wild on somebody else’s playground. The show ran for five seasons, then ended with a big orgy at Christmas dinner, followed by everyone filing for divorce on January 2nd. Well, okay, that’s how it should have ended. Alas, only one starlet from this little morality play has been in the showbooty business. The former Mrs. Neil Simon and Goodbye Girl star Marsha Mason gave us the first peek at her perky little pears in Cinderella Liberty, then did it again in Blume in Love. Simon must have cried when that girl said goodbye and took those ta-ta’s away--along with half of his money.
