Whatever

No Nudity

Review

Whatever started out as a streaming media program on a website made by the show’s creator and star, a red-headed teen cutie named Ashley Power. Described as being somewhere in-between the sappiness of Full House and the seductiveness of Titans, the teen comedy was tapped to become a regular series on Showtime in 2000. Part of the mission of her site was to provide a forum for other teens' art, and she encouraged fans to send in their writing, music, or graphic design work for possible inclusion on the show. Though she built up the website using her own initiative and know-how, she caught a lucky break when her friend starred in one of her segments. Her friend’s uncle, who just happened to be actor Richard Dreyfuss, saw the segment and thought the show held some promise. He later became a creative partner.  As the boys who made South Park could attest, nothing helps move product like having a celeb in your corner (George Clooney, in their case). While the very cute Ashley Power hasn’t decided to turn her website into a porn site just yet, her co-star Shari Shattuck has certainly more than fulfilled her nudity quota (if such a thing is possible). Shari has shucked her sugar plum covers and given us plenty of softcore sex scenes in a variety of films, including Dead On and The Spring. However, she pulled off some of her best work (and best bras) in the softcore opus Point of Seduction: Body Chemistry III. Good golly, Miss Shari--what a set of cans!
