Biography

Wendy Grantham goes both ways — at least, when it comes to spelling her first name. Equally pleased with Wendy or Wendi, the accommodating actress is also a singer and writer. We just wish she’d add topless dancer to this list! But instead of taking off her bra, the brainy beauty took classes at Harvard University. The gorgeous grad also tackled her craft at The New Actors Workshop. Her efforts paid off with a part in Charles Gordone’s Pulitzer Prize winning play No Place to Be Somebody in 1993. After getting into theater, Ms. Grantham got into film as an intern on Spike Lee’s semi-autobiographical musical Crooklyn (1994). In 2002, the pretty performer also popped up alongside Tim Roth and Gabriel Byrne in the R-rated thriller Emmett’s Mark (also known as Killing Emmett Young). But it was her guest appearance on David Simon’s crime show Homicide: Life on the Streets (1998) that proved to be her big break. The small screen stint helped Wendi land the recurring role of Shardene Innes on HBO’s critically-acclaimed followup series The Wire (2002-2008). Fortunately for us, the provocative part put the built bombshell in the land of skin! Wendy shows off her gams thanks to a pair of silver short-shorts she barely wears. If that’s not arousing enough, we get to glance at the exotic hottie’s bare mams! Yes, Wendi plays a topless dancer. So, it looks like we got our wish after all. As she greases her pole, you’ll want to grease your pole too!
