Volle maan (2002)

A gaggle of horny high-school graduates set sail for adventure in the Dutch romantic comedy Volle maan (2002). Alternately titled Full Moon Party, Johan Nijenhuis’s adolescent romp tells of a clique of friends that catches wind of a beach party accessible only by boat. The pals decide to swipe a schooner and rudder out in search of bikini-clad babes, but the hero’s square brother tries to put the kibosh on their fun by making his sibling (Daan Schuurmans) stay home and act his age. Nijenhuis’s film is breezy, mindless fun, and the director’s kind enough to throw his young audience some frequent female treats. Smoking reveals by Jasmine Sendar and Ellen Ten Damme are just the beginning of the fun in this sun-kissed beachside tale.
