I definitely smell a 2KX Anatomy Award nomination or two in this Mr. Skin Minute. How come the Anatomy Awards are not recognized by my favorite *cough* mainstream website, the IMDB? They recognize the Razzies, which are also internet based, and also a bit non-conformist... Please note... 2KX = (c) 2009 Dave's version of what he thinks the year 2010 should look like. If the IMDB suddenly recognizes the Anatomy Awards it's all because of Dave and he should get cookies, money, fame, or maybe a date with your mom. Forever and ever, Amen.

Dave, you're right as usual!

i watched the stripper scene from powder blue on your site, and i find it be quite skintriguing. has anyone seen this movie? besides the incredible nudity from biel, is it worth the watch?
Christopher Kowalsky Sr. @ 11:24AM on May 29, 2009
Dave: You got a great point there. I think the reason why IMDB doesn't recognize the Anatomy Awards could be because of the content of the material, such as the sex and nudity which is honored every year by ours truly, Mr. Skin. IMDB could refuse to showcase such material to avoid controversy and scandal from those who take offense and feel that such honors are repetitive, especially where nudity is concerned. They could also be protecting those who are sensitive to such material on their Web site (such as minors). Maybe one day they'll recognize the Anatomy Awards, maybe they won't. Chip: The stripper scene in "Powder Blue" is indeed skintriguing and Jessica Biel's nudity is incredible and it causes sensation and comfort in all the right places, or preferably just that one special place. To answer your question: Yes, I've seen the movie and in my honest opinion, it's a movie worth watching. It's dark and gritty with a wide array of diverse characters.

Kowalski is a Powder Blue fan. It didn't occur to me to watch the non-nude portions of the movie.
Thanks, Count Rackula--but you have the cooler name. ;-) CK Sr.: I thought you had nailed it down pretty solidly but a thought occurred to me and I rushed to the IMDB to see if they had a list of awards they recognize, showcase, link to, whatever... They do. Among those they list are the AVN awards, Adult Film Critics, and the X-Rated Critics' association. I hadn't been aware of this, and wouldn't have thought to even look if your post hadn't gotten me thinking. If the Razzie's are IMDB worthy (and I'm not insinuating they aren't) and the AVN awards aren't too risque for the site (and I'm happy they're not) then I really wanna know--from the IMDB--why the Anatomy awards aren't notable. I think more people care about them then, say, the Hoboken International Film Festival selections. Yeah, that one's listed, too.
I was actually just watching Powder Blue and it's a really good movie. I came on here after surprisingly seeing Jessica's Biel's. And what nice Biel's they are.

Count: Yes, I am a "Powder Blue" fan. The cool thing about the movie is that there's more to it than just the nude scenes of Jessica Biel, which has been nothing but the center of attention long before the movie was even released on DVD. I was surprised at how frank and brutal the film is in its depiction of broken down characters whose lives seem to be spiraling out of control. Dave: Thanks for doing the research for all of us, myself included on IMDB. I might've been aware of their listings of movie awards in the past, but lately I never bothered to cross reference what I originally had thought. Maybe IMDB over time has finally given the recognition that so many awards groups richly deserve, like what you mentioned in your post, AVN Awards, Adult Film Critics, X-Rated Critics' Association, etc. Since the start of the Anatomy Awards, Mr. Skin has been promoting them as hard and as tirelessly as only he can and yes, they too deserve to get the kinds of publicity that these other awards get. I think we should all get an online petition signed and send it over to IMDB in the hopes that we can make them reconsider their decision.

How about an Anatomy Awards TV show on cable where we could show all the nudity? That would be the breast.
Christopher Kowalsky Sr. @ 11:53AM on June 2, 2009
I second that opinion Count Rackula. I'd go for the Anatomy Awards show on cable TV, raw, uncut and uncensored. This will be a true test for the cable networks to see who can get the better ratings and to test the limits of the censors.
Opinion Thirded. Showtime broadcasts the AVN awards ad nauseum. Strangely, I've never watched them or really had a desire to. Long story why. The Anatomy Awards I'd watch. Hell, if AVN can be on Showtime, the Anatomy Awards could easily be on E!, home of the Girls Next Door.

Do you think Helen Mirren or Kate Winslet would show up to accept a Lifetime Skinchievement Award? If not, they could send Sacheen Littlefeather like Brando did at the 1973 Oscars. Actually, that works, since Sacheen got nude in Johnny Firecloud.

Thanks for the great comments and discussion.

We are working "very hard" on trying to grow the Mr. Skin brand into the mainstream. Getting the Anatomy Awards recognized by the IMDB would be a great, simple first step. We will look into it.
