Venus in Furs (1969)

In 1969, Italy produced two erotic films entitled Venus in Furs — one directed by Jesús Franco and the other directed by Massimo Dallamano. To complicate matters, the latter also goes by Venere in pelliccia and Devil in the Flesh. Based on the novel “Venus in Furs” (1870) by Leopold von Sacher-Masoch, this flesh-filled flick was deemed to obscene to be released in Italy so it was called Venus im Pelz for its German premiere. Censored versions were subsequently (yet briefly) available as Venere nuda in 1973 and Le malizie di Venere in 1975. So what was all the fuss about? Mostly Laura Antonelli’s awesome body. As Wanda de Dunaieff, her character’s ho-hum world turns upside down when she falls for sadomasochistic maniac Severin (Régis Vallée) who has her play kinky sex games. Just three minutes into the movie, we are treated to a nice long view of Laura’s bare breasts and bush as Severin spies on her while she showers. After another thirty minutes, Wanda’s man fondles her full frontal frontage in bed. In yet another scene, the naked babe displays her T&A while she literally lashes out at Severin. She later poses nude with her whip for a dude to paint her masterpiece of ass! But not before the sexy seductress turns on another guy with her topless talents. In the film’s most perverse scene, Wanda dons nothing but a wooden yoke around her neck as she’s forced to watch others fornicate. Needless to say, the yoke is on her!
