Review

A boy-meets-girl drama takes an unorthodox turn when the boy’s strict parents meddle in his affairs in Ori Kowarsky’s Canadian indie Various Positions (2002). Tygh Runyan stars as Josh Szchevisky, a hard-working law student who takes a shining to pretty Cheryth (Carly Pope) after encountering her in an elevator. Because the boy’s parents are Orthodox Jews who don’t want their son dating a half-Jewish woman, he must quickly choose between family and his heart. With all due respect to the Szcheviskys, it doesn’t get much godlier than Pope, who blesses viewers with a peek at her holy hooters.
