Varietés (1971)

No Nudity

Review

Spanish siren Sara Montiel stars in the Spanish-made movie Varietés (1971). Some may not be familiar with Varietés, but Señor Skin recommends you check it out. Just consider: Spanish is one of the world's preeminent romance languages, and the female population of the Iberian peninsula has been immortalized in songs from the pop standard "Ladies of Spain" to the opening lines of "Never Been to Spain" by Three Dog Night (to wit: "Well I never been to Spain/But I kinda like the music/Say the ladies are insane there/And they sure know how to use it/They don't abuse it/Never gonna lose it/I can't refuse it, umm"). Thus, Varietés provides ample opportunity to examine some of the world's most eye-catching women. On top of that, Varietés was directed by Juan Antonio Bardem, and he's pretty cool.
