Everything is big in Texas, and that includes Mr. Skin’s crush on the Lone Star state’s native hottie Vannessa Vasquez. Raised in various cities throughout Texas—Richmond, Galveston, Sugar Land—she graduated from the University of Houston with a degree in both social sciences and liberal arts. Of Mexican descent, her dad still lives south of the border, while Vannessa eventually made her way to Los Angeles. She worked at a diner, and attended Stella Adler Academy, and acting school, on a grant scholarship. The 5'5” brunette babe did a bunch of short films, then starred as Susan in The Darq (2011), an independent horror flick. She also played Gracie in Misfire (2014), and Magdalena Cruz in Sins of a Call Girl (2014), both smaller films that added to her resume and helped earn her breakthrough role that same year. She was cast as Camila Barrios in Hulu’s East Los High series, the streamer’s first English-language program with an all Latino cast. Vannessa excelled in the role, which she played from 2014-2017, and even picked up a nomination for a Daytime Emmy for it. Straight off of that, she landed the part of Jennifer Vergera in the mini-series Trap Plane (2017), which actually shot in Houston. The brown-eyed beauty popped up in several TV series, including Castle, Daddy’s Girls, The Fix, a recurring role as Estella in Border Patrol in 2019, MacGyver, and Walker. She’s also continued to captivate in feature films, including playing Mila Sweeney in Sorrow, with a minimal wardrobe; a hot wife in Mad Families(2017) with Charlie Sheen and Leah Remini; and in the part of Emily Smith in Prescience (2019) with Eric Roberts.
