Unreal (2004)

The producers of a reality dating show rig a contest for lovelorn lonely hearts in the micro-budget mocumentary Unreal (2004). Sloan Copeland’s faux-documentary pokes fun at The Real World and Blind Date as it dispatches camera crews to tag along with attractive couples who’ve just separated. Instead of allowing the singles to throw themselves into the dating pool, however, the show’s producers corral the six individuals together in hopes of igniting a combustible powder keg of exes dating exes. Flighty and fun, Copeland’s film also introduces the world to a budding actress with a body worth taking note of. Reality-show participant Jessi Morales never fully undresses, but she lets slip enough hints to successfully whet our appetites.
