Union Square

One of the major networks’ biggest concerns is trying to find new programs to wedge in between their already popular shows. Seemingly dozens of sitcoms have been offered the plum position of “on right after Friends,” but very few have actually made any progress in their own right. 1997’s attempt was Union Square, one of those bland and meandering ‘location sitcoms’ – which took place mainly in a diner and had a half-dozen oh-so-wacky characters bouncing off of one another. This one barely even made it through a half-season before another failed sitcom was tossed into the slot.
