Jury duty can be a real drag, especially when the mob is involved. Joanne Whalley-Kilmer stars as Valerie, a small-business owner and single mother selected to serve on the jury trying the case of murderous mob boss Rusty Pirone (Armand Assante) in Trial by Jury (1994). In an attempt to influence Valerie’s vote, the incarcerated don unleashes Tommy Vesey (William Hurt), a former detective gone bad, on the sexy civil servant. To protect herself and her son, the intimidated dame must convince her fellow jury members to win an acquittal. Feeling the overwhelming crush of corruption and guilt, the manipulated mom uses her sexual prowess to balance out the scales of justice and clear her conscience.
