Nobody can blame a skinema fan for getting excited about a movie such as Topless Women Talk About Their Lives (1997)--but the movie’s really about a guy who’s made a documentary with that title, and we don’t actually see any of the titular ladies. Even more baffling, the movie-within-a-movie is supposed to be a box-office failure. Anyway, that’s just one subplot crammed into this New Zealand hit adapted from a popular TV show of the same name. Danielle Cormack gets most of the screen time as a pregnant gal trying to figure out if either of her lovers is marriage material. Her real-life pregnancy was written into the script, as is made abundantly clear when Danielle shows off her abundant milk-filled mams during a surprisingly sexy scene.
