We interview a lot of interesting people here on the Mr. Skin blog, but few of them can say their work is as important as Joe Rubin's.

Joe basically came out of the womb an exploitation fanatic and has been amassing an impressive private collection of vintage exploitation and erotic cinema since he was a teenager. Now he's also launched a digital restoration company, Process Blue, that specializes in rescuing exploitation and X-rated films from obscurity and giving these long-neglected artifacts the respect that they deserve. Joe says that often when he contacts directors about restoring their films, they are shocked and touched to realize (often for the first time) that their work is remembered and appreciated as art. That's something that Process Blue is trying to change.

Process Blue is getting off to an auspicious start by participating in the excellent restorations of Radley Metzger's "Henry Paris" films in partnership with DistribPix and with the very exciting project they're working on now: a Kickstarter campaign to restore three previously "lost" films by exploitation legend Herschell Gordon Lewis.

We talked to Joe at his home base just around the corner from the Mr. Skin offices, where he told us about his massive collection, his work with Process Blue, and the unmatchable elegance of Kelly Nichols.

Producer Eli Roth’s The Last Exorcism (2010) may be scaring up big business, but Mr. Skin will always have the fondest of feelings for the demonic possession blow-out that originally bedeviled the world in 1974: The Exorcist.

It’s not because The Exorcist is so intensely frightening. It’s because that horror classic spewed forth the career of Linda Blair, who grew up (and out) fast to become on of the most skin-tense naked B-movie bombshells of the ’80s.

So however hard and high The Last Exorcism may make your hair stand on end, you can always let original Exorcist babe Linda Blair turn you into the horniest of devils with her big-breasted bare exposure in six ractackular roles, including Savage Streets (1984), Night Patrol (1984), Red Heat (1985) and, of course, Chained Heat (1983) — which only happens to be the greatest Women in Prison movie of all time!

Number 3: Linnea Quigley

Ask a horror fan to name a Scream Queen, and the first name that automatically comes up, without fail, is Linnea Quigley.

She came from Davenport, Iowa, and debuted nude in the wild mockumentary Auditions, followed by a stand-out turn as Sleeping Beauty in the not-for-kiddies softcore romp Fairy Tales.

After that, Linnea stripped for the fright flick Stone Cold Dead, and in 1981 alone she appeared in the buff in Don’t Go Near the Park, Graduation Day, and Psycho From Texas. From there, a Scream Queen Supreme was born … naked.

Number 5: Linda Blair

Although she’s never gotten naked in a horror movie, per se, when it comes to the unholy annals of Scream Queendom, few lungs project more powerfully than those just beneath the booming D-cups of Linda Blair.

The frightful fact is this: Linda Blair portrayed demonically possessed little Regan in The Exorcist. She subsequently spent the 1980s busting out her hellaciously hot hooters in a series of the decade’s most skincandescent exploitation classics.

Therefore, Linda Blair ranks right near the top of Mr. Skin’s Top 31 Naked Scream Queens.

Just released on DVD, the horror-comedy Zombie Strippers stars horror legend Robert Englund and porn queen Jenna Jameson.

There's plenty of skin from strippers Roxy Saint and Shamron Moore and Jenna’s jugs, juicebox and junk-in-the-trunk are visible in a blood-splattered pole dancing scene. But your pole will be splattering something else!

Skincidentally, 1982 is the same year that young Demi Moore also appeared fur-tastically nude in Oui.

After a tumultuous adolescence which included a sexual relationship with heartthrob rocker Rick Springfied (she was 15, he was 25), and starring in the gland-mark explicit TV movies Born Innocent and Sweet Hostage, Linda dared to bare in the pages of Oui as a sort of coming out -- of her clothes -- celebration.
